The Treaty of Waitangi is a very important document in New Zealand History

was signed in 1840 on 6 February there are multiple copies in English and Maori

by the British Crown and the Maori Chiefs.

One of the main principles of the Treaty of Waitangi is the concept of bad and

good and fairness and particularly how it impacts the Maori in many ways including

rights and interests. However, throughout history, There have been times when people's

so-called justice under the Treaty has been proven unfair to the Maori.

A few examples are Land confiscation when the British Crown unjustly confiscated

Maori Lands. British laws and language have a massive impact on the Maori in multiple

areas. Maori historically faced systemic discrimination such as education, healthcare, and

many other opportunities.
